This year, almost 400 students, along with their families and guests, will participate in ceremonies held in Marlborough or Nelson.

Graduation events are significant occasions for both staff and students to acknowledge their accomplishments.

It is a time for celebration and reflection on the hard work that went into achieving their educational goals.

After the ceremonies, the graduates will parade through the streets, take photos in their formal academic regalia, and attend a reception hosted by the student association, SANITI.

Organisers look forward to another vibrant, upbeat event, celebrating graduates’ cultural identities and differences.

Formal graduation ceremonies were reinstated last year after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the postponement and modification of the 2021 graduation events. Over 1600 students are on track to graduate this year.

The 2023 NMIT Te Pūkenga graduation events will take place in Marlborough and Nelson as follows:

Marlborough

Date: Tuesday, 12 December
Time: 1 PM
Venue: Marlborough Events Centre

Nelson

Date: Friday, 15 December
Venue: Trafalgar Centre
Time: 10 AM and 2 PM

The student processions will occur in both Nelson and Marlborough, followed by a reception at NMIT 322 Hardy Street, Nelson, and the Marlborough Events Centre.
