If you need support, you can talk to your tutor, your student representatives, SANITI the student association, or any of the NMIT student support services. They will help you or connect you with someone who can.

Nau mai haere mai | Our place is your place

We want you to feel your best so you can do your best.

We will officially welcome you onto our Nelson and Marlborough campuses with a mihi whakatu (welcome ceremony) at the start of each semester. This is followed by shared kai and entertainment.

At the start of your study, you can also participate in orientations. We work with you to identify your preferred ways of learning and any potential barriers that may hinder your study, so you can get the most from your time at NMIT.

Te Puna Manaaki - Support for Māori learners

Te Puna Manaaki is the dedicated support service for all ākonga Māori enrolled at NMIT.

Pasifika Support

Nelson Tasman Pasifika Community Trust is working alongside NMIT to ensure that all Pasifika students are well supported and have the best experience as learners.

Equity Disability Access

The Equity Team ensure students with learning difficulties, medical conditions, injuries, disabilities and or impairments receive support to achieve.

Wellbeing

The Wellbeing Support Team work collaboratively with domestic, international, and offshore online students to ensure students have healthy, safe, supportive, and inclusive learning experiences and environments.

SANITI Student Association

All enrolled students at NMIT are members of SANITI and are entitled to representation and services provided by the Association.

Whether you’re on-campus, online, NZ-based or international, you can get help with your studies from the Learning Support team.

IT Helpdesk

Our friendly, knowledgeable IT Service Desk can assist you in most things IT.

The Library provides specialist services, collections and facilities to support your learning and research needs.
